At Tough Toys we’re always looking for the best 4wd accessories from around the world, but we don’t take our eye off the ball at home either. It’s always a pleasure to find great gear that’s made in Australia. After all who knows the most about the conditions out in the bush and the stuff you need to deal with them? We’d say there aren’t many people who know more than Uneek 4x4, which is why we love their stuff so much.
Uneek are a Victoria-based outfit who research, design and produce a huge range of high quality parts and accessories. As well as general touring and outdoor gear they supply accessories for most of the popular 4wd models, including some really good diesel power modules that deliver up to 25% more power and 40% more torque.
We’ve played with a lot of Uneek’s gear and it’s all pretty impressive stuff. One thing it all has in common is really good build quality, and that’s because Uneek have their own fabrication shop with over 50 years’ experience in bending, rolling and welding. They’re experts at building tough gear and that’s exactly what we like to see. When you buy Uneek you know it can stand up to a real beating.
Uneek’s gear isn’t just tough – it’s clever, too. One of our favourites is their Ute bed extender. You just drop the tailgate then fit the bed extender on top of it. The bed is now longer by the length of the tailgate and the extender keeps everything safely inside. When you stop for the night you can also remove it and use it as a bench. Don’t need the extra length right now? Flip it round and create a space for heavy gear to stop it sliding around.
