The Oodnadatta Track is a 614km unsealed route known for its red sands, extreme temperatures, rugged terrain and historic sights.The track runs through the town of Oodnadatta and can be reached from Coober Pedy, Marree to Marla or from the North via Finke Northern Territory.

4wd Tracks
Wadbilliga Road drive is a 4WD touring route that takes you through an incredible range of terrain and environments within Wadbilliga National Park. The drive is 35km one way and takes approximately 1hour 30 minutes to traverse.
When we look at going 4wding we often need to consider the added fees that come along with the adventure, such as entry fees to private 4wd parks or permit fees to national parks but we’ve found a great location in QLD that lets you drive on the beach for FREE!
While Moreton Island is home to over 420km of unsealed trails much of Moreton Islands beach driving is limited by the tides, If you want to make the most of seeing the sights ensure that you are prepared to head out as soon as the tides permit. We recommend 2 hours either side of low tide.
While there is minimal inland tracks to get your around at high tide to see the main sights the tracks themselves were a sight to be seen. Beautiful wild flowers grow in abundance and tracks cut through hills of coloured sands.
If you're into the thrills and excitement of 4WD, Mt. Wellington in Tasmania is one of the best places to consider. You can take the Spirit of Tasmania in order to get to the island, which is a great choice if you prefer to bring your vehicle from the mainland. The Jefferys Track is one of the most popular 4WD routes, along with the East West Trail and the Ringwood Trail.
If you live close or nearby Brisbane in QLD, then the Glasshouse Mountains are every man's 4wd dream! You simply must visit this great national park area located just north of Brisbane with countless tracks to explore in an easy day trip.

D Aguilar National Park is divided into two sections, north and south. The majority of the northern part is 4wd access only. Mt. Right on the door steps of Coffs Harbour in the mid-northern coast of NSW lies an amazing yet little known National Park called Yuraygir (Yur-ay-gee). The national park is a 4wd wonderland of bush and beach that takes days to explore. It really has to be seen to be believed.
The Great Ocean Road offers a relaxing and inspiring journey along coastal scenery. Inland you are met with tall foresets, fern gullies and cascading waterfalls. This is a drive that outdoes any.
Just west of the Grampians National Park lies a little town of Ararat. There are some little known 4wd tracks in the area around a lookout known as One Tree Hill. The area is difficult to find on google but if you search for "One Tree Hill Track Ararat" you will find it.
We approached the Grampians National Park from the southern end having just completed the Great Ocean Road and seeing the wonders of Australia's southern coastline. As we came closer to the national park we became aware of how big the peaks and rock formations of the area really are.
UHF Channel 10 crackled as the Land Rover Discovery 300tdi edged down a fire road in the Kanangra National Park. The Toyota Prado D4D idled calmly behind waiting for final instructions whilst the v6 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon rumbled behind waiting for its turn...
While we were toughing it at Wamuran, It was just myself and my fiancee in my GW v200. We were going through some pretty hairy forestry so i decided to take the open track which lead me to a few not too deep mud holes until i got to the last one.
Our friends and us both set out to Double Island towing our jet skis, our friend being the 'ultimate big headed 4wder' was in front, the tide was coming in and there was a low track which the wave were sometimes covering and a high track in the sand dunes.
A great getaway for the family! A mate and I packed up friday, loaded up his 2007 Mitsubishi TD Triton and trailer and headed off. Got to Bribie beach and let the tyres down to 18 psi (hence brought a set of Tough Toys tyre deflators).
After spending a night camping at Rathdowney, we decided to go out on a quick 4wd trip to the Waterfall Creek Road area. It is an easy track with some side roads you keep you entertained. When you get to the end of the track there is a bushwalk that takes you to the Upper Portals for some great views of waterfalls and birdlife.
We hadn’t been on the beaches at Bribie Island yet, so we all packed up and headed out in a convoy of about 6 cars for a day trip. Bribie island is only about an hour and a half from Brisbane and probably the closest place that 4wd enthusiasts from Brisbane can get some beach driving action.
If you're in Port Macquarie and you're after a fun day trip that will have you back home before nightfall, the Point Plomer trip is one to put on the todo list. Starting at Port Macquarie's northshore (accessable via a ferry) you can drive all the way to Point Plomer on a sandy off road track which has a number of beach highlights along the way.
We were after a quick long weekend getaway and decided to go camping at Peach Trees near Jimna. Peach Trees Forest Park is about 44 km north of Kilcoy and 4 km north of Jimna off Kilcoy Murgon Rd. It was an unexpected surprise and a great private little camp area where we were happy to let the kids explore. We hadn’t planned on visiting Landcruiser Mountain Park, but we were sure glad we did.
Just 6km north-west of Urbenville is a 4wd recreation park called Levuka. It is set on a working cattle property and has all kinds of tracks from intermediate to difficult. The tracks are set amongst a rainforest area that is mostly un-drivable when wet.
Bellthorpe National Park is beautiful place. With a mix of rainforest and wildlife broken up by water crossings and steep hill ascents, this is 4wd heaven.
